Elaine Watkins
April 10, 1959 – January 8, 2023
Dr. Liviticus E. Watkins was born April 10, 1959, in Macon, GA, to the parentage of the late Chief Apostle Donald W. Watkins, Sr., and the late Apostle Connie Watkins. She was introduced to God at an early age and was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at 12 years old. Even though she was young, she felt the calling of God on her life and studied his word day and night, even in school. At the age of 14, she preached her first sermon. She would share the word of God to her classmates and may followed her to church and were saved. She continued to allow God to use
her and preached for vouth revivals across the city. She went to hich school at Bibb Tech and Central High School. After graduation, she went to school for cosmetolog. and attended Georgia Beauty School where she learned how to do hair She married Marvin Releford on February 14, 1980. Shortly after, they were stationed in Geopping, West Germany. While in Germany, she was asked to pastor and changed the First Baptist Church into what is known as a Gospel Service. Because of her, there is a Gospel Service on every military base. On November 1, 1985, God blessed her and her husband with their only child, a son, Dominique M. Releford. She continued to preach the word of God and moved back home in November of 1986
Upon moving home, she began working diligently in the church and was given the position of youth pastor of the Light of the World Pentecostal Holiness Church where her parents, the late Chief Apostle Donald Watkins and Apostle Connie Watkins, were the pastors. The youth ministry began with only three young people, but through her teaching of the word, it grew quickly to over 100 young people who affectionately called her "Lady E."
'She served as youth pastor for 23 years. As
she continued leading the young people, more and more youth began to join the ministry. On April 6, 2008, her father was called home to be with the Lord, and she assumed the role of pastor for Greater Light of the World Church currently known as River of Life Church.
While she pastored, she continued studying the word and deepened her knowledge of God. She received her Doctor of Divinity on November 8, 2009, from Inter faith Bible Institute of Tuskegee University and later received her theology degree. God entrusted her with a mandate to build him a house that will be an agent of change, and she did just that serving faithfully in the Kingdom of God.
On Sunday, January 8, 2023, she gained her wings and went home to be with the Lord in the company of her loved ones. She is survived by her son, Dominique (Iyar) Releford, grandchildren, Alizera Hawkins, Dominique Releford, Elyse Releford, She Quawn Jones, Jaguan Jones, DeShawn Jones, and Equanese Jones; she also
Chandler; to cherish her memory, she leaves behind her godchildren whom she called her own, Caterina Jones, Michael (joey) McCrary, Adrianna (Dante) Best, and Bishop LaDamiun (Jefferia) Raines; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved dearly.
Pr. Chief Apostle Liviticus E. Watkins was loved by all who had the pleasure of gracing her presence. She will be missed dearly by her family, friends, and church family.
