Mrs. Carolyn Caldwell was born on March 17, 1954, in Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia, to the late Arthur Byars, Ir., and the late Rosa Mae Byars. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jeannette Jones; godson, Alonzo Reid, Jr.; and grandparents, Willie and Hattie Sims and Mrs. Luddite Brown.

Carolyn attended the Spalding County School System and graduated from Fairmount High School.

She liked cooking, cleaning, caring for others, and she loved attending church. Carolyn joined Pine Chapel Baptist Church of Lebulon, Georgia, and joined the Usher Ministry where she served until her health declined.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Lewis Caldwell, of thirty-tour years; son, Jonathan Jones; daughter, Brittney JaMarcius) Caldwell; grandparents, Thea (Jarvis) Banks and Alexis Reid; brothers, Christopher Byars and Mitchell (Mary) Byars, sister, Virginia (Gary) Akins; seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, several aunts and uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
