Carolyn J. Heard, was born to Willis Kellogg and Christine Johnson on July 11, 1944. She was raised on a farm alongside her sister JoAnn Brewer. She was a talented basketball player at Norcross High School where she graduated in 1962. As a young lady she began her journey in Atlanta, GA where she started working as a nurse. At an early age she devoted her life to Christ and loved being a servant for the Lord, helping others without hesitation and showing love and compassion was what made her golden. She was married to Frederick Heard for 43 years before gaining her angel wings on March 28, 2023.

Carolyn is lovingly remembered by her husband, Frederick Heard (Freddie); her two daughters, Cassandra Johnson (Cookie) and Conterry Johnson (Terry); her four granddaughters Ryan Kelly (Nuke), Erin Canty, Morgan Ferrell and Cameron Clark (Cammie); a great-granddaughter, Wynter Campbell (Cotton); her sister, Janice Mattison and a host of nieces and nephews.
