BERNARD, as he was known by all, was a native of Panama City, FL, he was born

March 22, 1958, at Tyndall Air Force Base, the first child born to Luella Jackson (Jones) and Clifton Jackson.

Growing up in the Springfield (Bay Harbor) section of Panama City where he attended elementary and middle school. His high school years were spent in San Francisco, CA, while living with his Uncle Charles and Aunt Shirley, graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School.

He then enlisted in the United States Army on June 14, 1976, and after serving four years, he received a honorable discharge in 1980. Bernard was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Jackson; father, Clifton Jackson; grandparents, Jack and Gussie Jones and Clifton and Helen Jackson.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Luella Jackson native of Panama City; daughter, Akilah (Darrell) Beavers; grandson, Darrell (DJ) Beavers, Jr.; sisters, Vickie (Gordon) Varrelman, Carlyn Rene (Lee Kirk) Jones, and Gussie (Curtis) Champagne; nephews and nieces, Aaron Varrelman, Lauren Allen, Jonathon Varrelman, Kayla Perkins, and Lee K. Jones, Jr.; uncle and aunts, Eddie (Shirley) Jones, Patricia Guilford, and Lucille Quinton; and a host of cousins.
