Freddie Calloway, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was born on January 21, 1952, in Griffin, Georgia, to Pless Calloway and Cora Lee (Milton) Crawley. He peacefully passed away on January 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and love for his family and community.
Freddie grew up in Griffin, where he received his education through the Griffin-Spalding County School System. Throughout his life, he worked as a skilled carpenter, taking great pride in his craft.
As a member of Corinth Baptist Church, Freddie found strength and solace in his faith, which remained a cornerstone throughout his life. He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Cora Lee (Milton) Crawley and Pless Calloway, as well as his brother, Bobby Crawley. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Pamela Felisha Jones of Columbus, Ohio, and four grandchildren: Daniel Coleman, Laura Coleman, Brian Coleman, and Andrew Jones. He also leaves behind two brothers, John (Linda) Calloway and Milton (Kimberly) Crawley, both of Griffin, GA, along with two aunts, Bessie Richardson and Opal Crawley.
In addition, Freddie is survived by several uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. His presence in their lives will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the love he shared and the lessons he imparted to those who knew him.
May he rest in peace, knowing the love and impact he left on this world.
