IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ibn Basil
Uqdah
February 27, 1978 – January 3, 2025
With great sorrow and deep reverence, we announce the passing of Ibn Basil Basim Uqdah, who left this world on January 3, 2025, at the age of 46. Basil was a man of exceptional character. Basil was born on February 27, 1978, and in his 46 years, he exemplified unwavering integrity, honor, and strength. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Nicole Antionette Uqdah, with whom he shared a 30-year blissful bond built on love, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to their family. As a father, he was a loving role model, raising his sons, Basil Ibn Basil Basim Uqdah (19) and Idris Hakeem Uqdah (13), with the same values that defined his own life—kindness, determination, and a deep sense of responsibility. Basil's life was one of service to his family, friends, and community. He completed his elementary and secondary education with the Griffin-Spalding County School System, where he excelled both academically and in extracurricular activities. His formative years in these schools laid the foundation for a life built on hard work, responsibility, and service to others. After high school, Basil pursued his higher education at Georgia Southern University, where he further honed his skills in finance. His generous spirit, quick wit, and thoughtful counsel left an everlasting mark on everyone who knew him. Whether in moments of joy or difficulty, he approached each with the same sense of integrity and dedication. Basil's devotion to his family was evident in everything he did. His gentle spirit, combined with his steadfast character, left an indelible impact on all who knew him. He was a source of inspiration to his friends and loved ones, always willing to lend a helping hand, offer wise counsel, or simply listen. His integrity and honor were constants in all aspects of his life, whether in his professional endeavors or in the way he interacted with others. Basil was the beloved son of Basil Basim Uqdah and Brenda Aneesah Uqdah. He was a dear brother to his siblings: Jameelah Uqdah (Tolbert) and her husband Ricky Tolbert, Nafeesah Uqdah, Mustafa Uqdah, and Kameelah Uqdah. He leaves behind a large and loving family, including a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will forever cherish his memory. Though we mourn his loss deeply, we are grateful for the legacy of love and strength that Basil leaves behind. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend—a man whose life touched so many. Basil's passing leaves a profound void, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all. He will forever be remembered as 'The Black Rhino' - full of integrity, honor, and strength .
