Love Manual Maddox lll, was born on August 6, 1934 to the late Mattie and Love Manuel Maddox, ll.

Love is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ella Maddox; a son, Manuel Maddox; sisters, Gail Maddox, Joann Maddox, Nellie Wayman, a brother; W. Maddox "Boolum"; nieces, Kay L. Johnson and Denise Milner; a nephew "BooBoo"; and his special fur buddy "Joc".

Love is a graduate of Fairmont High School . He was enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17. He was a part of the Korean War from 1950-1953. Love was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. In 1960, he worked in New York City for eight years. Love later returned to Griffin, Georgia in 1968 and graduated from the Georgia Police Academy he became a police officer. He was apart of Atlanta Security Force pistol team, later on working for the Griffin police department as Officer Maddox which is titled Parliamentarian of the Griffin Chapter of Fraternal Order of Police.

Love also studied to become a machinist under the manpower development training act. He worked at this for two years in Atlanta, Georgia, and completed Intoximeter school, enabling him to administer alcohol test . He later worked for United States Postal Services until retirement.

With many accolades, Love was apart of many organizations and a wonderful Serviceman, even with his beliefs. He joined Faith United Methodist, was apart of the United Methodist Men, and also served on the hospitality committee. He loved baking, was apart of the VFW softball team, bowling, watching sports, and family.

He leaves to cherish a Granddaughter, O'Kelia Manning; step granddaughter, Kenyatta Reid & 5 loving great grandkids, Carreah,Shariyah, Marvion,Taniya,Tariyona; a sister, Mary Maddox; an aunt, Mary (Griffin) Kendall; a nephew, Phil Doss; nieces, Lolita Davis, Keisha (Anthony) Carter, Adrenna Maddox; a sister-in-law, Annie Ruth Maddox; a friend/neighbor Bernard Eason;  a friend; Minister Shirley Gardner and family.
