MRS. LUCILE TALLEY LAMAR was born on May 17, 1945, to the late Ruby Watts Lyons and John Talley. She peacefully departed this life on February 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, strength, and unconditional love.
Lucille was a woman of remarkable endurance and quiet strength. She faced life's challenges with grace and perseverance, never allowing hardship to overshadow her gentle spirit. She was humble, kind, and compassionate to everyone she encountered. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she found great comfort and guidance in reading her Bible. She often lifted her voice in song, filling rooms and hearts with warmth, comfort, and praise.
Lucille was deeply devoted to her family, and nothing brought her more joy than her children and grandchildren, whom she adored with her whole heart.
Her love was constant, her presence reassuring, and her wisdom a source of strength for those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Carlton Lamar, Sr.; her brothers, Matt Calvin Talley and Benjamin Talley; and her sister, Ruby Lee Park.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving children, Carletha L. Raglan, Carlton (Mable) Lamar, Jr., Dewayne Lamar, Pamela McReynolds, Anthony Lamar, and Tiffany Lamar. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings, Betty L. Brown, John Oscar Talley, Montaque (Frances) Hasan, and Christine Talley; 19 grandchildren, Marcus Berry, D'Andre Lamar, Walter Alexander Bibbs, Cierra Slaton, LaRobert Lamar, LaDarrell Lamar, Chasity Lamar, Tierra Chappell, Michael Chappell, Jr, Matthew Chappell, Alpheus Bonner, Alverez Bonner, Nicole Bonner, Edward Stewart, William Stewart, Adraine Stewart, Jacqueline Stewart, Terry Stewart, James Stewart; great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Mrs. Lucille Talley Lamar will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, beautiful voice, and the quiet strength that carried her and those around her through life's trials. Her legacy of love, endurance, and kindness will live on forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
