Obituary

Georgie Mae Raines was born to the late George W. and Arsie Mae Searcy on January 24, 1941. She graduated from Taylor County High School. She later attended Georgia Southwestern College and completed the social services program where she worked at a case manager for the Taylor County DFACs Office for many years. Georgie Mae was married to the late Willie C. Raines, Sr., for over 60 years. She was a committed member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church where she dedicated her time to the Senior Choir, Youth Choir, and Deaconess Board. Georgie Mae was also a participant with the Eastern Star Chapter and Floral Club along with her dear friends. Georgie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Willie C Raines, Sr.; parents, George W. and * Arsie Mae Searcy; brother, Albert (Ruth) Searcy; and a sister, Alzina Richardson. She leaves to cherish: a son, Willie C. (Barbara Ann) Raines, Jr.; grandchildren, Matechia Simmons (Dendrick Brown), Monetriya (Lynn) Williams, Damiun (Natalie) Raines, LaDamiun (Jeffreia) Raines, Travis Respress, Johnny Heath, Anthony Elisa) Heath, Yolanda Respress, Jamil Snipes, and Jahmin Snipes; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
