IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mother Frances
Woodson
April 5, 1950 – August 9, 2025
"The Legacy of a Woman of Love"
Frances Woodson was born on April 5, 1950, in Fort Valley, Georgia, to the late Eddie Lee Williams, Sr., and Gloria Lee Williams-Harris. From the beginning, Frances carried herself with the heart of a servant, the grace of a nurturer, and the strength of a woman grounded in her love for God and her family. On August 9, 2025, she peacefully transitioned from labor to reward, leaving behind a legacy defined by faith, love, and a life well-lived.
Frances grew up in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where her foundation in the Word was laid. Later, she joined True House of God, serving with excellence as an usher. Eventually, she became a faithful member of Corner Stone Fellowship Ministry, where she was honored as the mother of the Church — a role she carried with joy and responsibility. Frances lived her faith, not just in word but indeed, and she was known for her beautiful spirit, her servant's heart, and her deep commitment to doing everything in love and with excellence. She would often say, "It's not what you do, it's how you do it," and her life was a testament to that very truth.
A woman of bold truth and gentle grace, Frances always said what she meant and meant what she said. She was a woman of conviction, compassion, and clarity. She believed in people, in prayer, and in the promise that "Jesus never fails." Her favorite song declared it, and her life reflected it. Her worship was sincere, her counsel was wise, and her love — especially for children — was unmatched.
Frances was the proud founder of Frances' Day Care, where she helped raise and mold countless children with the same love and discipline she poured into her own family. Her impact was generational — shaping futures, strengthening families, and providing a safe place where love, learning, and laughter met.
She was united in holy matrimony to her loving husband, James Woodson, Sr., and their union spanned 55 years of great love and devotion. Together, they built a life of devotion, partnership, and unwavering love. He loved her deeply, and she was not just his wife — she was his heartbeat, his covering in love, and his crown.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Lee Williams, Sr., and Gloria Lee Williams-Harris, siblings, Barney L. Williams, and Vivian Williams.
Frances leaves behind her devoted husband, James Woodson, Sr. of Warner Robins, GA; four beloved children: Kathy Woods of Cincinnati, OH; Karen (Lamar) Radford of Warner Robins, GA; James (Jacqulyn) Woodson, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH; and Bishop Keith Woodson of Warner Robins, GA. She was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and the great-grandmother of 10 great-grandchildren.
Her siblings also survive her: Gracie Brice of Fort Valley, GA; Lena (Harold) Snead of Ijamsville, Maryland, Eddie (Gisela) Williams, Jr. of Fort Valley, GA, Everett (Kathy) Williams of Bowie, Maryland, Gloria (Alvin)Wilcher of Macon, GA; and Jerome (Tiffany) Williams, Sr. of Fort Valley, GA. Her dearest friend, Mary Sanders of Fort Valley, GA, also remains to celebrate her memory. Frances also leaves to cherish a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Frances Woodson was the embodiment of love in action. She was a worshiper, a mother, a wife, a sister, a friend, and a warrior of faith. She taught us how to serve, how to stand, how to speak truth in love, and how to walk with dignity and joy. To know her was to be blessed by her. To be loved by her was to be forever changed.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that she has entered the joy of the Lord. Her love, her legacy, and her light will never fade. Truly, she was and forever will be —
a woman of love.
