Mr. Richard
Williams, Jr.
August 1, 1952 – March 3, 2026
On August 1, 1952, Richard Williams, Jr., was born with a spirit of discipline and determination that would shape his entire life. Educated at Miami Carol City High School, he soon answered a greater call, serving his country in the United States Army. Through dedication and leadership, he retired honorably as a First Sergeant, a title that reflected his strength, integrity, and commitment to excellence.
After military service, Richard continued working with the same steady drive as a truck driver and later with the Georgia Department of Corrections. He believed in showing up, standing firm, and finishing what he started.
He loved working out and running. They were not just as hobbies but reflections of how he lived: steady, focused, and never quitting.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Richard Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Demita Williams; daughters, Claudia, Valerie, and Cynthia (Ayite Sr.) Williams-Butler; grandchildren, Ahmir Butler and Ay-ite Butler, Jr.; sister, Dorothy Holden; brother, Joseph Wil-liams; nieces, Stephanie Holden and Katrina Witherspoon; nephew, Don Holden; and his beloved grandchildren.
He ran his race with strength and honor. And now, he rests.
