TERRENCE LEGACY: RISING UP
Today, we gather to celebrate the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of Terrence, a man whose love, strength, and unwavering faith have left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. Born at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, Terrence began his journey on this earth with a light that would shine brightly for all to see.
He was raised in Decatur, where he grew into a kind-hearted and determined young man. A proud graduate of Southwest DeKalb High School, Terrence made his mark on the football field, where his grit and teamwork set the tone for his life ahead. He carried his passion for football to Barnesville College, further building his strength and tenacity.
In May 2001, fate brought Terrence to the mailbox of the woman who would forever change his life. His persistence and charm won her over, and by January 2002, their love story became official. Together, they built a marriage that was a testament to devotion, protection, and unconditional love. Terrence made those around him feel cherished and secure, and his wife was no exception.
Terrence's passions ran deep, starting with his unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a dedicated husband, a loving father, and a generous soul whose life mission was to uplift and help others. He led his family to Christ, spreading the word of God wherever he went and encouraging others to find salvation. His smile could light up a room and bring joy to the darkest of days, à gift he shared freely with those around him.
Terrence loved his career and took immense pride in being a provider and protector for his family. His children were the light of his life, and he fought valiantly through every challenge, fueled by his love for them and his desire to be there for their future.
He found joy in life's simple pleasures-working outdoors, riding ATVs, watching his beloved Atlanta Falcons, and most importantly, spending quality time with his family.
A family tradition that brought Terrence great joy was his love for dogs, a passion shared by his entire household. Terrence adored their two fur babies, Duke and Tinsley, treating them as cherished members of the family. His love for his fur babies was yet another testament to his kind and generous spirit.
Though his journey on this earth was not without its trials, Terrence faced them with the heart of a champion. Health challenges that could have broken others only strengthened his resolve. When he became disabled in 2018, life's challenges became even greater, but Terrence was never alone. A special thank you goes to Milan Kala, Terrence's brother from another mother, who never turned his back on him. When others drifted away, Milan remained steadfast, offering unwavering love and support. Milan made Terrence feel seen, valued, and deeply loved during some of his hardest moments, and for that, we are forever grateful.
Terrence's legacy is one of love, resilience, and faith. His compassion and empathy made him a rare and beautiful soul, truly one of a kind. Though he left this world too soon, the impact of his life will continue to rise in the hearts of those who knew and. loved him.
Today, as we reflect on Terrence's life, we remember a man who gave his all, who loved deeply, and who fought valiantly. His light may no longer shine on this earth, but it will forever illuminate the lives he touched. Rest well, Terrence, in the arms of your Savior. Your legacy of love and faith will rise in us all.
